Information about the web apps planned for support in PageLive.
Planned Support
To reach the goal of making PageLive a more useful and delightful experience users
, we plan to support more web apps in the future. The exact timeline is not yet determined, but I
will
prioritize popular web apps that still have accessibility barriers for screen reader users.
The planned supported web apps are listed below, and I will update the list as I make progress on
development.
The development of support for these web apps is progressing at a slow pace due to PageLive limited
research and development resources. Each web app requires significant time to develop and test,
especially to ensure the extension works well with screen readers. We appreciate users' patience and
support as we continue to improve and expand PageLive's capabilities over time.
Extensive Planned Support
Some of you may wonder why there are so many planned supported web apps while development is
progressing
at a slow pace.
The reason is related with the technical factor in developing Chrome extension.
Everytime PageLive adds support for a new web app, user needs to grant permission for the updated
extension.
This may confuse users if the extension frequently updates with support for a new web app one by
one.
By including a long list of the planned support in the extension's code from now, users do not need
to
frequently
grant permission for the updated extension, and they can just grant permission once when the
extension
is updated with the long list of planned supported web apps.
The list also helps users to understand the development roadmap and the pace of development.
Please note that the list of planned supported web apps is not a commitment, and the actual
supported
web apps and timeline may change based on user feedback and development priorities. We prioritize
web
apps that have significant accessibility barriers for screen reader users and those that are widely
used
by our target audience of power users and screen reader users.
